Cybersecurity Incident Response
In this project, I was tasked with creating a plan to improve the network security of a multimedia company after a security event (DDOS attack) that compromised the internal network for two hours before it was resolved.
I used the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF) as a guide to help me navigate through the various steps of analyzing the security event and integrated my analysis into a general security strategy which includes:
- How to Identify the type of attack and systems affected.
- Ways to Protect the organization's assets from being compromised.
- Ways to Detect similar security incidents in the future.
- Plans to Respond in order to contain, neutralize and analyze security incidents
- Plans to Recover all affected system back to normal operation and restoring system data that was affected.
